2 YEARS!!

'bout time for another post, here it is,

It's The Blog's 2 Year Anniversary!

A couple days ago, the blog turned 2. I figured it would be a pretty good excuse for a special post. So, I bring to you,

The Challenger Redeye!

While the information is shaky at the moment, I will attempt to report the best I can on this mechanical marvel.

For starters, the Redeye makes 797 horsepower. It makes its power from a differently tuned Demon engine, aided by it's fully functional twin hood scoops, providing passive supercharging effects.

The car puts down its power with help from a widebody kit, helping to give it greater cornering ability, to boot. The tires are also pretty good. The 'Cat wears Pirelli P-Zero's, which were worn by the legendary Ferrari F40 (albeit an older version of them).

On the specs, the Redeye makes more power than an Aventador (797 horsepower as opposed to 740), and costs less than 1/4 the price (~$70,000 as opposed to $400,000).

I am excited for more info on the Redeye, and want to see if it is truly competition for the ZL1 LE and the Cobra 350R.

So, thanks to you, the readers, for keeping this blog going for two years. It's been pretty fun, and I'm looking forward to another two (and more, hopefully).

Le Mans Wrap Up

'bout time for another post, here it is,

 Le Mans Wrap Up!

LMP1

In this year's LMP1, we had a great race between Toyota and Toyota. It's not like the reason Rebellion couldn't have won is because LMP1 is prohibitively expensive and requires world-class drivers, of which hardly any actually want to drive it ( because most are racing Power Wheels and calling it "Formula E". Also, now, there is a fuel limit for each driver stint. I'm pretty sure that there will soon be a mandated racing line, and passing nets a 10 second penalty. I have heard that regular gasoline LMP1 cars may be coming back however (I have also heard that this is the end of LMP1. Let's hope for the former.).

LMP2

This year's LMP2 was actually quite heated! Although pretty much everyone used either an Oreca or a Gibson, it was pretty competitive. Two Jackie Chan DC cars crashed, making them do a lot worse than they were hoping. Interestingly, a bit of a scandal popped up surrounding another team, G-Drive. Apparently, they were using an illegal fuel-filler valve, helping to speed up pit stops.

GTE Pro

This was a pretty good year for GTE Pro. Porsche won with their "Pink Pig" cars. The Ford GT's did meh, rather like last year. Dirk Müller and his co-drivers did the best out of the GT's, winning 3rd in his class. I think that they would be faster if they ran with V8's. The Corvettes did OK, with the #63 car doing a gratuitous burnout on getting 5th. This was also the first year that the BMW M8's ran.
GTE Am

The GTE Am was pretty normal this year. There wasn't anything especially interesting this year, aside from a couple crashes (everyone was OK). I think that despite the fact that LMP1 is expensive to enter, it is fantastic that small(ish) teams can race in the big time.

Here's hoping to a good Le Mans next year,

Ford Eco Sport

Finalmente, another post.

Road Test of the Ford EcoSport

I was in a Ford EcoSport, so I figure that I should make a post about it.

To start, the interior is fairly meh. The plastics appear to be pretty good for what they are. They stayed quiet and didn't rattle. The seats were all right as well. They were cloth, and decently comfortable. However, the dash had one of those annoying "info-tainment" screens. It was too sensitive, and was a pain when driving over bumps. The suspension however, was a different story.

The suspension was too hard for what it was trying to be. It was somehow rolly-polly and jarring at the same time. It's the New Coke of suspension. Just somehow terrible in every way. I think the problem with it is that, like the crossover the EcoSport is, the suspension is trying to be two things and failing at them both.

The engine seemed good, however. The car had decent pickup, and seemed to have no trouble merging.

The name could do with a bit of changing. "Sport" and "Eco" do not go together. Although both are good, they ruin each other.

This, on principle, is not a bad car. It just needs to go on a diet and get the suspension lowered. I made a drawing!
